This article provides information about how to use the online event ticketing tool—Ticket Generator. This is useful for event organizers looking to learn more about Ticket Generator and its possibilities.
Tip: Before using Ticket Generator, understand what it can do and who should use it: What is Ticket Generator.
A. Create a Ticket Generator account
To get started, signup for a free Ticket Generator account.
You'll have two signup options—Sign up with Email or Sign up with Google.
Note that creating an account is easy and straightforward. You'll not be required to add any credit card details.
The free account allows you to try and test the features of Ticket Generator. You get started with 10 free ticket credits (where 1 Ticket Credit = 1 Ticket).

B. Understand the dashboard
Once you've created the account and logged in, you'll land on the Ticket Generator account dashboard.
Most navigation options are available in the sidebar on the left. Here are the key sections:
- Manage Events: This is where everything will happen. This is where you'll create, save, edit, and manage events and all event-related activities including events page, ticket design, registrations, ticket distribution, and event analytics
- API: Use this section if you're planning to use Ticket Generator's API to integrate ticket generation in your own information system or mobile application
- Ticket Validator: Use this section to access links to the Ticket Validator web and mobile apps
- Billing: Use this section to view and purchase ticket credits, save payment methods, and see order history
- What's New: Get updates on new features and enhancements, alerts, and notifications
- Support: Use this section to get support from Ticket Generator's customer relations team. You can get access to the knowledge base, demo video, Ticket Generator community, and Chat/Email/Phone options
- Account Settings: Use this section to view and update your profile information, billing information, and delete account
C. Create an event
Once you've explored how to navigate Ticket Generator's features, head to Manage Events section from the left sidebar.
Get started by creating your first event by clicking the Create New Event button.
To create an event, you'll need to fill in required and optional details about the event. Simply follow the instructions on the screen.

D. Understand event-related options
Once you've created the event, you can find the event in the Manage Events section. Click on the event to access the following event-related options (via multiple tabs):
- Event Details: This section will provide an overview of the event and some event-level actions. You can use this section to view and edit event details, manage event coordinators, and access other event-related actions
- Ticket Design: Use this section to design the layout of the ticket. You can use Ticket Generator's standard/default template, select another template from Ticket Generator's gallery, or upload your own template. This is where you'll also decide what unique information (called 'variable information') will go on each ticket. Note that a unique QR Code and ticket code is added by default to each ticket (irrespective of design choice)
- Event Page: Use this section to create, view, or update the event's landing page. An Event Page is intended towards guests and is used to share event details in a mobile-optimized page, get registrations, and collect payments for paid events
- Guest Tickets: Use this section to generate, distribute, and view tickets for that event. Tickets can be generated and downloaded or sent via email, SMS, or WhatsApp
- Analytics: Use this section to view and export event-level analytics data including tickets generated, engagement with events page and registrations, and attendance
E. Finalize Ticket Design
Once you've created the event, click on the event, and head to the Ticket Design tab.
By default, the standard ticket design template is assigned to the event. Here are the options you have:
- Personalize the standard ticket design with logo, background, and additional content options (description, terms & conditions)
- Choose a ready-made template of the standard ticket design. Click 'Choose from Template' option
- Upload your own ticket design. Note that in this case you'll need to ensure your ticket design has all relevant details that you need on the ticket. Only the unique QR Code, ticket code, and unique/variable information can be added to this design

F. Setup Events Page (optional)
For your event, you can choose to setup the Event Page.
An Event Page is intended towards guests and is used to share event details via a mobile-optimized page, get registrations, and collect payments for paid events.
If you already have the guest list, you can skip this option. However, if you want people to view events details or register for an event or register and pay for the event, use this option.
For more information, here is a step-by-step guide: Setup Event Page
Once you've setup the Event Page, you can preview and test the page via the Test Registration Link. When testing is complete, you can promote the event by sharing the Live Registration Link.
You can then use the Registrations tab to view and approve registrations (depending on your choice of approval method—manual or automatic). Once registrations are approved, tickets are automatically sent to the registered guests.
Important: Ensure you have an adequate number of ticket credits to auto-generate tickets.
G. Purchase Ticket Credits
Once the event is setup (including ticket design and Event Page), you should purchase the required number of ticket credits.
Note that 1 ticket credit is required to generate 1 ticket.
To purchase tickets, go to Billing. Here you can first estimate the total price of the tickets you'll need. You can purchase ticket credits in packs of 10, 100, 1,000, and 10,000.
H. Generate & Download/Send Tickets (optional)
Use the Guest Tickets section to generate, distribute, and view tickets for that event.
If you've created the Event Page and are depending on direct registrations, then this section may not be too useful for you. You can still use it to generate and send ad-hoc tickets if required.
This section is useful if:
- You want to generate and download ticket files (for printing). You can then distribute the tickets by mail or in-person or at the box office
- You want to generate and send a single ticket (contact information of the guest is required)
- You want to generate and send tickets in bulk (contact information of guests is required)
- You want to resend an already generated ticket
- You want to view downloaded/sent tickets (incl. if tickets have bounced)

I. Validate Tickets
On the day of the event, to check if a guest has a genuine ticket, you'll need to validate the ticket.
By default, the owner of the Ticket Generator account (called Administrator or "Admin") can validate the tickets. Additionally, the Administrator can also invite Coordinators to validate the tickets.
Administrators and Coordinators will need a smartphone and one of the following:
- Ticket Validator mobile app (available on App Store, Google Play)
- Ticket Validator web app
Using one of the options above, tickets can be validated in two ways:
- QR Code (Recommended): Administrators/Coordinators can scan the unique one-time scannable QR Code on each ticket
- Ticket Code: Administrators/Coordinators can enter the unique ticket code mentioned on the ticket in the validation app
The validation app will give one of the following 3 responses:
- Valid: The application recognizes the QR Code/ticket code, and the ticket is genuine and used for the first time. Allow entry
- Duplicate: The application recognizes the QR Code/ticket code but ticket has already been validated before. Either mark as a case of 'Duplicate Ticket' or allow re-entry
- Invalid: If the The application does not recognize the QR Code/ticket code. Do not allow entry

J. Add Coordinators (optional)
In case you have a large event or want to delegate ticket validation, you can add Coordinators to the event.
Go to the Event Details > Event Coordinators Assigned section. Click on Add Coordinator. Note that you'll need to invite the coordinator(s) by email address.
Multiple coordinators can validate tickets in real-time with high level of accuracy.
For more information, here is a step-by-step guide: Add Event Coordinators
K. View/Export Event Analytics
Once the event has ended (or in real-time) you can view and export the following event-level data:
- Ticket Generation: No. of tickets generated by method, distribution channel, period and ticket status
- Event Registrations: Event Page Visits, Registrations, Conversion Rate, and Approval Rate
- Attendance: Event Attendance by Period, Validations by Coordinators, No. of Duplicates/Invalid Caught
