This guide explains the components and significance of event tickets generated using Ticket Generator.
An e-ticket created with Ticket Generator includes essential event details and unique identifiers to ensure guests have all necessary information and to prevent counterfeit tickets. This guide provides an overview of what information can be included on these tickets and the importance of unique QR Codes.
Ticket Components
Event tickets are designed to convey essential information to guests and event organizers. These tickets include three main categories of details:
- Event details
- Variable information
- Unique QR Code and Ticket ID
A. Event Details
The event details on the ticket design include the details added while creating a new event. These details are:
- Event name
- Event description
- Event dates and timing
- Time-zone
- Venue
- Notes
Note: The above details will be available on all tickets if the ticket design is chosen from the
Suggested Templates. However, if the Upload Own Design option is chosen, ensure these details are already part of the ticket design uploaded in the tool.
B. Variable Information
While choosing the Upload Own Design option Ticket Generator allows the addition of variable information unique to each ticket. A few examples of variable information can be the following:
- Guest name
- Ticket price
- Seat number
- Seating row and section
- Hall number
- Booking reference number
- Guest company name
B.1. Adding Variable Information
During the ticket generation process (via the Guest Tickets section), the following steps need to be followed:
- Add variable information placeholders as part of the ticket design (up to 5 header-value sets) from the Quick Actions section on the Ticket Design page
- Provide this information (for each ticket) either via an inline editor or CSV/MS Excel upload
- In addition to the above, each ticket will also have a QR Code and Ticket Code necessary for ticket validation
C. Unique QR Codes
Each ticket generated using Ticket Generator will have a unique QR Code linked to its unique Ticket ID. This ensures that no Ticket ID can be repeated. The unique nature of the QR Code and Ticket ID prevents counterfeit tickets from being created.
Below is a sample ticket with a unique QR Code and Ticket IDs for reference:
Note: You can scan the ticket using the Ticket Validator app's sample event and confirm the validity.
