This article explains the Offers feature in Ticket Generator, including the three types of offers available and how to create, view, and manage them. This is useful for event organizers who want to run promo codes, automatic discounts, or bundle deals on their event page.
Offers let an event organizer give guests a reason to buy more tickets or buy sooner. Three types are available: a Promo Code that a guest types in at checkout, a Discount Rule that applies on its own once a cart meets a condition, and a Bundle Deal that gives a free ticket after a set purchase quantity. All three appear together on the event page and can be turned on or off at any time.
A. Before creating an offer
Offers are available only under these conditions:
- The event must use Paid tickets. Free events cannot have offers
- The event must be a new event created after the Offers feature became available. Offers cannot be added to an event that already existed before this feature launched
If an event does not meet these conditions, the Offers tab will not show a way to create a new offer.
B. Open the Offers tab
To find Offers for an event:
Manage Events > select an event > Event Page > Offers
The Offers tab sits next to Overview and Registrations. The event page must already be created before the Offers tab can be used. If no offer exists yet, a Create Offer button appears. Selecting it opens three offer type cards to choose from: Promo Code, Discount Rule, and Bundle Deal.
C. Create a promo code
A promo code is a code that a guest types in manually during checkout to get a discount. Choosing the Promo Code card opens a form with these fields:
- Promo Code Name: the code itself, such as EARLYBIRD20
- Code Visibility: a toggle for Show Code On Event Page. When turned on, the code is listed publicly on the event page. When turned off, only guests who already know the code can use it
- Discount: the discount amount, plus a dropdown to choose Percentage or Fixed Amount
- Applies To: the ticket categories the code works on. All Categories can be selected, or specific ticket categories
- Usage: Unlimited, or Limited. Choosing Limited reveals a field to set the maximum number of times the code can be redeemed
After the required fields are filled in, selecting Create Promo Code saves the offer.
D. Create a discount rule
A discount rule applies a discount automatically once a guest's order meets a condition, with no code needed. Choosing the Discount Rule card opens a form with these fields:
- Discount Rule Name: a name for the rule, such as Bulk Saving
- Discount Based On: a choice between Minimum Order Amount, which sets a currency threshold such as USD 100, or Minimum Ticket Quantity, which sets a minimum number of tickets
- Discount: the discount amount, plus a dropdown to choose Percentage or Fixed Amount
- Applies To: the ticket categories the rule works on
- Usage: Unlimited, or Limited with a maximum number of redemptions
Once saved, this discount is applied to every qualifying order without any action from the guest.
E. Create a bundle deal
A bundle deal is a Buy X, Get Y offer, such as Buy 2 tickets, Get 1 Free. Choosing the Bundle Deal card opens a form with these fields:
- Bundle Deal Name: a name for the deal, such as BOGO Special
- Deal Logic: two numbers, Buy (Paid) and Get (Free), that set how many tickets a guest must buy and how many they get for free
- Max Deals Per Order: an optional cap on how many times the deal can repeat within one order. Leaving this blank allows unlimited repeats
- Applies To: the ticket categories the deal works on
- Usage: Unlimited, or Limited with a maximum number of redemptions
Like a discount rule, a bundle deal applies automatically once a guest's ticket quantity qualifies.
F. How offers appear to guests
Every active offer for an event shows in an Available Offers list on the ticket selection step of the event page. Each entry shows the offer name, a short description such as 20% Off With Code EARLYBIRD20 or Buy 2 Tickets, Get 1 Free, and which ticket categories it applies to. A tag next to each offer shows whether the guest needs to act:
- Apply In Order Summary: shown for promo codes. The guest selects Add Promo Code in the order summary, enters the code or selects a suggested code, and selects Apply
- Applies Automatically: shown for discount rules and bundle deals. No action is needed from the guest
A bundle deal and a discount rule can both apply to the same order at the same time. A promo code, however, takes the place of any automatic discount rule already applied. If a guest removes the promo code, the automatic discount rule applies again. This means only one percentage or amount-off deal is active at once, but a bundle deal can still stack alongside it.
G. Manage an existing offer
All offers for an event are listed in a table on the Offers tab, showing Status, Offer Name, Type, Applies To, Offer Details, and Usage. Selecting the three-dot menu next to an offer opens three options:
- Edit: change any field on the offer
- Duplicate: create a copy of the offer to adjust and save separately
- Delete: remove the offer permanently
The Status toggle turns an offer on or off without deleting it. Turning an offer off shows a confirmation message, since the change applies immediately at checkout. Turning it back on makes the offer active again right away.
