This article explains how recipients can save their tickets to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet when tickets are delivered via SMS using Ticket Generator.
When tickets are sent via SMS using Ticket Generator, attendees can now easily add them to their Apple Wallet (IOS) or Google Wallet (Android). This feature simplifies ticket storage, improves event entry efficiency, and ensures easy access on the day of the event.
A. How it works for ticket recipients
When a ticket is delivered via SMS, the recipient will receive a message containing:
-
A short event message
-
A secure ticket link
On opening the link, the ticket page will display an option to save to Wallet. Based on the device used, the following options will be shown:
-
IOS (iPhone): Add to Apple Wallet
-
Android: Add to Google Wallet
The digital wallet ticket contains essential event details such as:
-
Ticket ID
-
Event name
-
Event date and time
- Venue of the Event
-
QR Code for validation
B. Requirements to enable wallet support
This feature is automatically enabled for tickets sent via SMS. However, to ensure optimal delivery and wallet compatibility, keep in mind:
-
A valid phone number with a country code must be entered when generating tickets
-
The recipient’s device must support Apple or Google Wallet
-
The ticket must be opened using the native browser on the device (Safari for iOS, Chrome for Android)
Note: The wallet file format is automatically selected based on the device and does not require any setup from the organizer.
C. Benefits of using digital wallet tickets
-
Faster access at entry points with the built-in QR Code
-
Offline availability—tickets can be opened even without internet once saved
-
Better attendee experience—no need to search emails or SMS threads
