Cancel Tickets
This article provides step-by-step instructions on how organizers can cancel attendee registrations in Ticket Generator. It explains the process for both free events and paid events, including how refunds are issued when applicable.
Introduction
There may be situations where an organizer needs to cancel an attendee’s registration for an event. Ticket Generator allows organizers to manage cancellations directly from the Registrations section of the event dashboard.
The process differs depending on whether the event is free or paid. For free events, the organizer can cancel the ticket directly from the registrations list. For paid events, the organizer must first view the attendee details and issue a refund, after which the ticket will automatically be canceled.
A. Access the event registrations
Log in to the Ticket Generator account
From the dashboard, select the event for which the ticket cancellation is required
Navigate to the Registrations section to view the list of attendees who have registered for the event
B. Find the attendee registration
In the Registrations table, search for the attendee using the email address or phone number provided during registration
Once the attendee is located, check the Actions column next to the registration
Three action buttons will be visible for each registration
C. Cancel the ticket (free events)
For free events, the organizer can cancel the ticket directly from the Registrations table.
Go to Event Page > Registrations
Locate the attendee whose ticket needs to be canceled
In the Actions column next to the registration, three buttons will be visible
Click the third button (Cancel)
A confirmation window will appear asking to confirm the cancellation
Click Confirm to proceed
Once confirmed:
The ticket will be marked as Cancelled
A ticket cancellation email will automatically be sent to the attendee informing them about the cancellation
D. Refund and cancel the ticket (paid events)
For paid events, the organizer must issue a refund. Once the refund is processed, the ticket will automatically be cancelled.
Go to Event Page > Registrations
Locate the attendee whose ticket needs to be refunded
In the Actions column next to the registration, three buttons will be visible
Click the first button (View Details)
The attendee’s registration details page will open
Scroll down to the Payment Details section
An option to refund the payment will be visible in this section. The organizer should click on this option to initiate the refund process
Click Confirm to initiate the refund process
A confirmation page will appear showing the refund details
Once confirmed:
The refund will be processed
The ticket will be automatically marked as Canceled
The attendee will receive a refund and cancellation confirmation email
E. Confirmation and email notification
After completing the cancellation or refund process:
A confirmation message will appear on the screen indicating that the ticket has been canceled
The attendee will receive an email notification confirming the ticket cancellation or refund
Additional notes
Once a ticket is cancelled or refunded, the action cannot be reversed
Ensure the attendee’s email address or phone number is correct when locating the registration
